On November 16-17 the 2018 Creative Hand Show and Sale will open at Old Shawnee Town Hall, located at 11600 Johnson Drive in Shawnee, Kansas. The Kansas City Fiber and Weavers’ Guilds sponsor this event. Both days have free show entry and free parking.
This year 60 artists will walk into an empty room, and in a matter of 7 hours, they will create a beautiful gallery for their art. This is the original pop-up shop, and they have been doing this for 35 years. Over the course of a day and a half more than a thousand people will come in search of fiber arts they can see, touch and even wear.
For the past year, members of the two guilds have met monthly to collaborate and demonstrate their work and inspiration. Once a year, they share their artistry and skill with the public. The show is both an exhibition and sale of art-to-wear that members of both groups have created by hand. Visitors can learn about carding wool, spinning fiber, and needle felting and more.
Come and find your own handmade treasures!
